"Big AL "

Age 67, late of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. A true Yankee - born and raised in Connecticut. A very proud United States Vietnam Era Navy Veteran, serving his country at NAS Meridian, MS. meeting and marrying his wife there. He spent 10 years in Joliet raising his family and working on the ICG Railroad. Returning with his family in Connecticut for 3 years and then back to Illinois in Chicago where he was employed by the IC and CCP Railroads. Close to retirement he then moved back to Joliet. Much to his distress he ended his career with the CN Railroad retiring in 2014 with over 35 years of dedicated years with the Railroads. Allan loved tending his garden and creating the best looking lawn in the subdivision. Coach AL enjoyed years of spending time with his sons and their teammates on their football and little league fields. His daughters and their teammates also experienced his expert advice when he coached their softball teams. He enjoyed fishing, was a fan of the Eagles, the Doors, the Beach Boys and CCR. An avid Indianapolis Colts fan and thought the New York Yankees were the only team worth watching. He was a three Stooges devotee, knowing all the dialogue short film. John Wayne movies were his favorite and he was proud of his "F-O-R-D" truck. Allan was a man of many new ideas but loved tradition. Above all else Allan cherished spending time with his family.
