Antoinette "Toni" Koestner

(Nee Bartlaga)

Age 102, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Born and raised in Chicago where she lived most of her life and has been a resident of Lockport for the past 10 years. Former member of St. Joseph and St. Anne parish in Chicago where she was an active member of the senior's club. Toni enjoyed bowling all the way into her late 80's. She was an avid Facebook scroller and had countless Facebook friends. She loved visiting the casinos, traveling, and cheering for the White Sox. She especially loved giving hugs and kisses to her family and finding reasons to slip a crisp two-dollar bill into a card for a loved one.

Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Koestner (1994); her daughter, Karen Loch (2001); two sons, Donald Koestner (2008), and Kenneth Koestner (2021); her daughter-in-law, Lin Koestner (2021); her parents, Walter and Julia (Nee Figlewicz) Bartlaga; her beloved sisters Lottie Fik, Eleanor Zarnowiecki, Cele Lewis, and brother Henry Bartlaga.

Survived by seven devoted children, Charles (Donna) Koestner, Charlene (David) Smolik, David (Alicia) Koestner, Nancy (Raymond) Zmikly, JoAnne (Jim) Kazlauskas, Judy (Mike) Marcet, and Rick Koestner; 21 loving grandchildren, 26 adored great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law Chae Koestner and Joanne Koestner; son-in-law Len Loch; one brother Richard Bartlaga; her sister Dorothy Cwik, and numerous nephews, and nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lightways Hospice in Joliet in Toni's name would be greatly appreciated.

Prayers will be held in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 9:15am proceeding to St. Albert The Great Catholic Church, Burbank for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Interment following Mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Justice. Visitation in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
