Arlene (Glorioso)
Stengl
Jun 16, 1940 — Dec 22, 2020
Fort Meyers
Arlene Glorioso Stengl
Arlene (Glorioso) Stengl, nee Giacchetti, recently of Fort Myers, Florida, born and raised in Chicago, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on December 22, 2020. She was born on June 16, 1940, to the late Don and Elaine Giacchetti.
Arlene loved gardening and spending time on the beach, but her favorite hobby was being with her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, and friends, who remember how she impacted many people along her journey. The Stengl household was the central safe haven where all the neighborhood children would gather – and where some would seldom leave. We all learned from her the meaning of integrity, hard work, loyalty, and love.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband, Richard Stengl, are her four children, Kathy (Hank) Hines, Renae (John) Odenthal, Eddie Glorioso, Joanne (Martin) Query. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Gwendolyn (Kurt) Hoffmann, Matthew (Melissa) Kline, Edward (Erin) Glorioso, Michael (Katie) Hines, Jennifer (Stephen) Hassler, Courtney (Garrett) McCarthy, Anna Query, Nick Glorioso, and Dylan Glorioso; six great-grandchildren, sister, Midge (Pat) Kearney and brother, Don (Nancy) Giacchetti. In addition to her four children, she also is survived by her four sons by marriage, Vince, Jeff, Rodney, Jason, and their families.
Those who wish to remember Arlene may make gifts in her memory to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Il 60431. A celebration of her life service will be scheduled this summer.
