Augusta A. "Austine" Petersen

(Nee Gaglione)

Age 81, late of the Lago Vista Community, Lockport passed away peacefully at the Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet on Friday, March 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Chicago, lived in Mt. Morris, Alsip, and a resident of Lockport for the past 17 years. Member of St. Dennis Church, Lockport. She loved Hawaii, enjoyed golfing, but above all else cherished spending time with her grandchildren who were her whole world. Austine was a bright light, a kind and loving soul, and her glitz and sparkle will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Petersen (2009); and her parents, Samuel "Skaggs" and Marie (Nee Alagna) Gaglione.

Survived by her two devoted children, Maria (Anthony) Micheletto of Lockport, and Raymond Petersen of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Sara Micheletto; one loving brother, Nick (Marilyn "Mat") Gaglione; her dear cousin and best friend, Annette Passi; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.

Chapel prayers will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 9:15am proceeding to St. Dennis Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Entombment following Mass at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery, Alsip. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, in the funeral home chapel from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
