"Barb"

Age 80, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022. Born and raised in Chicago, raised her family in Dolton, and was a resident of Lockport since 2013. She was employed by School District 205 as the cafeteria manager for many dedicated years retiring in 1997. Member of IKES of Dolton, Immanuel Bethel Church, Dolton and dedicated Girl Scout leader. Barb loved reading, watching her grandchildren play ball, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald John Decker Sr.; her son, Ronald John Decker Jr. ; parents, William and Loretta (nee Wertheimer) King; one sister, Nancy Swanson; nephew, William Swanson; brother in law, Robert Decker.

Survived by two devoted children, Pamela (Thomas) Salutric, and Richard (Jennifer) Decker; daughter-in-law, Beverly Decker; adored grandchildren, Matthew, David, and Elizabeth Decker, Amber, Carly, and Trevor Salutric, and Austin, and Logan Decker; two sisters-in-law, Margaret (Mark) Wilcox, and Kay (late Russ) Brennan; her goddaughter, Kimberly Molitor; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association ( Donate )in Barb's name would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, 11:30am at Peace Lutheran Church 1900 E. Lincoln Hwy, New Lenox, IL 60451. Interment immediately following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
