Barbara Alice Zak

Our beloved Barbara Alice passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4th, 2024 at age 92, with her family by her side.  Barb loved cooking, baking, gardening, nature, and her family.

Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas J. Zak whom she married in 1957; parents, John and Martha (Susalski) Sehner, and sister Mary Ann (Hanenberg).

Barb is survived by her children Mark and Kevin Zak, Laura (Edward) Baus, Daniel Zak, and Sharon (Eric) Gort; grandchildren Lisa and Eddie Baus, Sean (Michelle) and Colin (Catherine) Gort, Alexis (David) Sablosky, and Miranda (Nick) Gort; great-grandchildren Calvin, Lilith, and Evelyn Gort; and brothers John (Doris) and Michael (Patricia) Sehner.

Per Barbara's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  Interment will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood, IL with her husband Tom, in June of 2025.
