Brad J. Steinke
Age 66, of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident of Lockport. He graduated from St. Dennis Catholic Grade School in 1972 and Joliet Catholic Academy in 1976. He worked for the Forest Preserve District of Will County for over 30 years, retiring in 2016.
Brad loved vacationing to the North Woods of Wisconsin, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with his grand-dog June. Above all else, he was a devoted husband and father. He was truly the best husband and dad in the world- always there with an open heart, a listening ear, words of wisdom, and a good joke. His family was everything to him, and he took great pride in supporting, guiding, and loving those closest to him. Whether it was through his work, hobbies, or just by being present in the lives of those he loved, he touched everyone around him with his kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elaine (Nee Murphy) Steinke; and his brother, Robert Steinke (2001).
Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Teri (Nee Reszel) Steinke; cherished daughter, Brooke (Steve); his grand-dog, June; one brother, Bruce (Sandy) Steinke; parents-in-law, Richard and Martha Reszel; sister-in-law, Stephanie Steinke; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Scott) Riddell; sister-in-law, Dori (Brian) Slattery; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or TLC Animal Shelter.
He will be deeply missed but forever loved. From arms of love, to arms of love.
