Brenda S. Rathnau

Age 74, late of Crump, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pikeville, KY, raised in Mayfield, KY, lived in Chicago, Romeoville, raised her children in Crest Hill, and a resident of Crump, TN since 2005. Brenda was the assistant manager at Hardee's in Crest Hill for 5 dedicated years. She loved crocheting, gardening, enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables, and everything she baked and cooked was always from scratch. Above all else Brenda cherished spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie and Marie (Nee Workman) Dye.

Survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Raymond Rathnau; her four cherished children, Raymond (Karen) Rathnau of Wilmington, IL, Kim Steven of Crump, TN, Tim (Nicole) Rathnau of Mt. Holly, NC, and Adam Rathnau of Crump, TN; her adored grandchildren, Kenny Rathnau, Amanda Jurasits, Rebecca Jurasits, and Anne Rathnau; and numerous other cherished family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation , or the American Cancer Society in Brenda's name would be greatly appreciated.

Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.

A celebration of Brenda's life will be held in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1:00pm until time of memorial service at 4:00pm with deacon Kevin Ryan officiating.
