Carol A. Riegel

(Nee Golob)

Age 74, late of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident of Crest Hill. Member of St. Anne's Church, Crest Hill, where she taught Religious Education on Sunday mornings for many years. Member of The Crest Hill Lassies. Retired from Chaney Monge School where she was a Second-grade teacher for 28 dedicated years. Carol coached cheerleading, poms, and track. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Carol enjoyed crocheting and exercising. She cherished attending her children's activities, where she was always their biggest fan.

Preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sr. and Ann (Nee Collofello) Golob.

Survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Larry Riegel; three loving children, Kevin, Kim (late Michael) Dore, and Kerry (Matt) Marchiniak; four adored grandchildren, Grace Dore, and Matthew Jr., Emma, and Kaitlyn Marchiniak; her sister, Kathy (Rich) Brown; one brother, Ed (Kim) Golob; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cherished family members and friends. The Riegel family would like to thank Lightways Hospice, Home Instead, Visiting Angels, Dr. Kolyvas and his nurses, Angie and Marsha at Duly Health, Joliet for all the love and support they have shown their family through this great loss in their lives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Riegel family which will be donated to various local charities in Carol's name would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone will meet at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1705 Burry Circle, Crest Hill, IL 60403 on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment following Mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL, 60441 on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 3:00pm until 8:00pm.
