Christine C. "Chris" Neakarse

(Nee Carlson)

Age 78, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Berwyn, raised in Chicago, lived in Oak Forest most of her life, and has been a resident of Lockport for the past three years. Former member of St. Damian Parish in Oak Forest, where she was a member of the choir, bell choir, was a Lector at Mass, and was a devout Catholic. Chris loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, drawing, and was an avid reader. Her talents allowed her to make custom made items for friends and family, from baby blankets to wedding dresses. Above all else she cherished spending time with her family, which brought her so much joy.

Preceded in death by her mother, Clara (Nee Kasper) Clause; her father, Vernon Carlson; one sister, Vicky Wynn; her aunt Rainey Dworak and numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.

Survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Ronald Neakarse; six loving children, Michael Neakarse, Lara (Mark) Detloff, Angela Neakarse, Joseph (Lisa) Neakarse, Kathleen Neakarse, and Theresa (Ryan) Felke; eight adored grandchildren, Jessica, Miranda, Abigail, Ethan, Dylan, Emma, Caden, and Declan; and one precious great granddaughter, Ella; her stepfather, Raymond Clause; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 9:00am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am. Immediately following service Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
