Dorothy, lovingly known as "Maga", was the heart of her family.  A bold spirit with a fierce love that never wavered.

She was a constant presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren, never missing a game, recital, or milestone, always cheering them on from the sidelines and there to support them anyway she could.

Strong willed and unafraid to speak her truth, she told it like it was.  Her authenticity was her signature; she lived unapologetically and loved unconditionally.

Family was her greatest joy - her sons, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandson were the center of her world.  With a personality as big as her heart, Dorothy lit up every room and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Schwab; son, Robert P. Canan Jr., former spouse, Robert P. Canan Sr.; siblings, Virginia (Joseph) LoConte and Rita Schrage

Survived by her loving children, Robyn (Jim) Twohill, Kenneth Canan and Richard (Neda) Canan; cherished grandchildren, Brooke (Chris) Thayer and Brett Twohill; great-grandson, Tripp Thayer; sister, Diane Arroyo; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Friday, May 16, 2025 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport.  Funeral Saturday, May 17, 2025 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15am and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Dennis Church.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.  For Info: (815) 838-5010 or www.oneilfuneralhome.com
