George F. Manikas Sr.

US Army Korean War Veteran. Age 91, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet, and a lifelong resident of Lockport.

George was a kind, caring, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was a foremost importance. He enjoyed music and playing the drums as a young man, playing in many bands. Manager and owner of Lincoln Realty and Investment Corporation. During his retirement years, he also helped and enjoyed being at Columbian Insurance Agency in New Lenox with his son and son-in-law. He also enjoyed his yardwork, neighbors and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Constantine and Frances Manikas; wife, Shirley; brother, Nicholas Manikas; sisters, Effie Pomykala and Mary Chase
Survived by his two children, Linda (Robert) Walker and George Jr. (late Laura) Manikas; grandchildren, Christina (Tom) Fabek, Steven (Katie) Walker, Dianna Walker, Stephanie (John) Worley, Emily Manikas and George III Manikas; great-grandchildren, Kellen and Briggs Walker, Nathan and Hannah Fabek; nieces and nephews.
