Irma M. Kelly

(Nee Gauger)

Age 92, late of Lockport passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elmhurst, raised in Warrenville, lived in Chicago, and a resident of Lockport since 1954. Member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lemont for many years. Irma loved painting ceramics, gardening, enjoyed a good cup of coffee, had a passion for animals, she appreciated the beauty of nature, airplanes, lighthouses, and was a great cook and baker. Above all else she was a very loving and caring soul, she ALWAYS put everyone else before herself, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, WWII Veteran Army SGT., William H. Kelly Sr. (1996); her mother, Lorna (Nee Hagengose) Mead; her father, Walter Gauger; her children, William H. Kelly Jr. (1979); June A. Kelly (2015); and Michael R. Kelly (2020); three brothers, Wilfred, Wesley, and Bud; and two sisters, Joan, and Lorna.

Survived by her two loving daughters, Diane L. Kelly of Lockport, and Sharon (Wayne) Kielma of Lemont; two devoted grandsons, Brandon Michael Kelly, and Matthew William Kelly; and grandchildren, Greg, Jessica, Loyal, Audra, and Wyatt; numerous adored great grandchildren, her brother, Robert (Judy) Mead; her dear friends, Bill and John Tebo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00noon with Pastor Michael Gudgel of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemont officiating. Interment immediately following services at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
