James Richard "Jim" Lukancic Sr.

Age 83, passed away comfortably on January 12, 2022, at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn with his family by his side. He was born on April 7, 1938, in Harco, IL to William and Josephine (Nee: Hrasar) Lukancic. He married Edith Atchley on April 30, 1960 and resided in Lockport. He graduated from Galatia High School, Galatia, IL in 1956 and started working for Caterpillar three days later until retirement in 1991. In retirement he worked at KJL Machining from 1991 until 2005 and Lane Manufacturing until his true retirement in 2015. He was affectionately known as "Papa" by his grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Papa never missed a softball game or a dinner with his family. He will forever be remembered as a kind and loving man.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith (June 1, 1993); and his parents, William and Josephine (Nee Hrasar) Lukancic.

Survived by his children, James (Kris) Lukancic Jr., Leigh (Mike) Leckron, and Melinda (Mark) London; seven grandchildren, Nick Lukancic, Kari Lukancic, Kaley Lukancic, Ashley London, Jakob London, Olivia Leckron, and Emmy London; and two great grandchildren, Presley and Logan Lukancic.

Cremation rites were respectfully addressed, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
