Janet Boland

(Nee Reed)

Age 77, late of Lockport passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Joliet, lived in Lemont, and resident of Lockport since 1953. She was a devout parishioner of St. Dennis Church, Lockport where she was a member of the CCW, and the Bible Group. She always looked forward to spending time with "Club." She graduated from St. Joseph School, Lockport 1959, Lockport Township High School 1963, and Little Company of Mary 1965 with a RN Degree. Janet was a Registered Nurse for many dedicated years. Janet and her dear friend Martha loved to craft, especially hand painting gourds. She found joy traveling especially for the annual Reed Girls Door County weekend. She loved music, was an avid reader, loved swimming, gardening, and was an exceptional cook. Above all else Janet cherished spending time with her husband Brian and their family.

Preceded in death by one beloved granddaughter, Louise Catherine Boland; her parents, Frederick Moreland and Virginia Marie (Nee Dillman) Reed; her stepmother, Virginia (Nee Wacha) Reed; and one brother, Michael Reed.

Survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Brian Charles Boland; five devoted children, Michael Reed (Susan) Boland, Peter Reed (Christine) Boland, Sarah Reed (Jack) Grotsky, Thomas Reed (Molly) Boland, and Patrick Reed (Elizabeth) Boland; 15 adored grandchildren, Emily (Kieran) Wallace, Elizabeth Boland, Rachel Boland, Mary Grace Boland, Benjamin Boland, Adam Boland, Abigail Boland, Kate Grotsky, Samantha Grotsky, William Boland, Sean Boland, Bridget Boland, Nora Boland, Fiona Boland, and Margaret Boland; one precious great granddaughter, Eleanor Wallace; four sisters, Mother Anne Of Jesus (Kathleen Reed), Rosemary (James) Paprocki, Anne (Richard) Morrissey, and Mary (late William) Kloock; and numerous other cherished family members and friends. Memorials to St. Dennis School, Lockport in Janet's name would be greatly appreciated, in lieu of flowers.

Chapel prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 9:15am proceeding to St. Dennis Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Following Mass interment will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Romeoville.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 3:00pm until 8:00pm.
