Janice L. "Jan" LeRoy

(Nee: Kierzek)

Age 60, late of Lockport passed away peacefully December 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, raised in Oak Lawn and a resident of Lockport for the past 40 years. A dedicated employee of Lockport Township High School for many years until this dreadful disease took her mind and eventually her body. She always had a smile for everyone and was the best mother her boys could have ever had. Jan was a loving and kindhearted soul. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting, racing go carts especially with her boys. She always cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Marion (Marchlewski) Kierzek; in laws, Robert Sr. and Dorothy LeRoy; and a nephew, Scott Ekin.

Survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert E. LeRoy Jr.; 3 devoted children, Brandon (Jessica) LeRoy, Kevin (Erica) LeRoy and Jason LeRoy; her stepson, Brian (Sarah) LeRoy; cherished grandchildren, Elsie, Kayla, Maren and Baby Janice LeRoy; cherished siblings, Nanette (late Tom) Ekin, Terry (Alice) Kierzek and Chester (Lynn) Kierzek; sisters-in-law, Judy (late Dave) Smrekar and Karen (late Mike) Perino; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Cheri) LeRoy; a special cousin, Jeannie (Joe) Skala; her dear and devoted friends who were always by her side, Mike and Anette Herbert and caretaker, Lisa Michael whom became part of the family over the last 6 yrs.  Numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lightways Hospice or Rush Alzheimer's without Warning in Janice's name would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St., Lockport, IL 60441 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Following visitation cremation rites will be respectfully addressed.
