JoAnn M. North

(Nee Viskocil)

Age 81, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Born in Joliet and a lifelong resident of Lockport where she resided in her family home. Retired from Luzbetak and Caneva Law Firm in Lockport where she was a legal Secretary for over 35 dedicated years. Member of St. Joseph Church, Lockport. JoAnn took great pride in working on the Old Canal Days Committee, and she was very active with Junior Miss Softball while her daughters were growing up. She enjoyed the friendships she had with all of her "Club" friends, who have gathered together regularly for the last 50 years. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren who were her whole world.  Above all else she was a loving mother, nana, sister, aunt and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her, parents, Dr. Emil and Isabel (Nee Heintz) Viskocil; her nephew and godson, Jay North; brother-in-law, James North; and former husband, William North.

Survived by her three devoted daughters, Kimberly (Paul) Kalafut of Shorewood, Lisa (Doug) Graber of Castle Rock, Co., and Sarah (Jeff) Waddell of Lockport; seven adored grandchildren, Kara, Chase, and Logan Kalafut, Hanna, and Maxwell Graber, and Ryan and Justin Waddell; one sister, Carole North; nieces and nephews Michael (Amy) North, Bradley (Bridget) North, and Suzanne (Jack) Asher, numerous great-nieces and nephews and many cherished family members and friends.

Per JoAnn's wishes Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Everyone will meet on Monday, February 5, 2024, at St. Joseph Church 410 S. Jefferson St. Lockport, IL 60441 for a memorial Mass at 10:00am. Inurnment following Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Lockport.
