John R.
"Jack" Weidensee
Oct 10, 1968 — Jul 31, 2023
John "Jack" Weidensee (October 10, 1968 – July 31, 2023) was born in Joliet, IL. He grew up in the Spring Creek neighborhood of Homer Glen (a neighborhood with culture) playing baseball with his brothers and childhood friends, including David Murphy and Rob Snyder. They also enjoyed exploring the creek and the woods, including Middle Earth.
Loving husband of Jennifer (née Attak), Jack and Jen enjoyed an epic romance spanning three decades, six states, and 16 homes. On December 29, 2007, Jack's already happy life became more amazing when he welcomed Rex Jackson, the light of his life, into the world. Together they enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bulls, playing driveway hoops, and watching and rating music and films.
Jack attended Joliet Community College, Columbia College, and North Central College, where he explored his passion for broadcasting and radio. For the past seven years, Jack devoted some of his time to a massive undertaking - a project researching and cataloguing all recorded music from 1910 to the present.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce (late Ralph), siblings Laurie (Ron), Tess (Bob), Jim (Pam), Joe (Valerie), Pattie (Dave), and Rebecca. He was the beloved son-in-law of Bruno and Denise Attak and a dear brother-in-law to Oak (Tiffany), Patti (Butch), Cathy (late Randy), and Pam (Larry). He was a loving uncle to 20 nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
His (strange) kindness and generosity of spirit will live on in his many friends and family.
