John (Jack) F. O’Keefe

March 18, 1948 – October 5, 2026

John passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and Trigeminal Neuralgia.

Survived by his loving daughters Joanne (Ed) Tomczuk, Jenny (Al) Ziegler, Jill (Sully) Dirilten, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Dearest “Buzzy” of Jackie (Cal) Trock and Bonnie Klimas. Uncle “Buzz” to several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine O’Keefe and 2 sisters, Carole Jean and Terri.

John was born in Chicago and was a graduate of DeLaSalle High School. He was a proud Army veteran and spent his career working in sales.

John was an avid fan of Jeopardy, Stock Car/ NASCAR racing, the Chicago Cubs and Tom Skilling. He was very proud of his three cherished daughters.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet for the exceptional care he has received for the past ten years. We would also like to thank Lightways Hospice of Joliet, who provided palliative and hospice care over the last two years.

In keeping with John’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his family will gather privately to honor his life.

If you are so inclined, please consider making a donation to The Friends of Sunny Hill, Inc. (www.friendsofsunnyhill.com), Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care (www.lightways.org), or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society(www.nationalmssociety.org) in his memory.
