JOHN A. SYNOWIEC, 87

Passed away peacefully on the morning of July 28, 2025 after a long illness.

Born and raised in Chicago.  Attended St. Joseph H.S. in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.  Earned his PHD in mathematics from IIT.  Taught as a professor of math for over 40 years at Indiana University Northwest.  John loved baseball, especially his Chicago White Sox.  He loved taking  walks and being outdoors and reading but most of all he enjoyed being with his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Wanda Synowiec; siblings, Ed Synowiec and Elaine Synowiec.

Survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen Synowiec; sons, Paul, Michael and George Synowiec; sister-in-law, Phyllis Synowiec; nephew, John Joe and his children, Jon and Joey; niece, Rosie (Artis) Analitis and their children, Joshua, Alexis and Alyssa; many dear cousins in Poland.
