John Francis Wilkins passed away suddenly on December 3, 2021. John was vocally unconcerned with trends but was truly a trendsetter. He was an obsessive "pawrent" to his pups, sci-fi nerd and mancave afficionado before any of those things were cool. John was always helping others. In his professional life, he served as a police officer and then as an X-Ray, CT and MRI technician. Most importantly, he was a loving provider for his family, especially his Mother-in-Law, Ruth Bukalski.

John is survived by his loving wife and partner of 25 years, Linda Bukalski-Buikema; stepson, Nate Buikema (Katy Broom); Sister-in-Law, Robin Burek (Dan); Brother-in-Law, Tracy Bukalski (Mesine); and nieces, Alexandria and Taylor Burek. Please honor John's memory by telling your loved ones how much they mean to you. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnels to Towers Foundation or TLC Animal Shelter.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at O'Neil Funeral Home, 1105 E. 9 ^th Street, Lockport, IL 60441. Services will be held on December 11, 2021, at 9:30 am. in the funeral home chapel to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 401 E. 5 ^th Street, Lockport, IL 60441 for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Following Mass Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed.
