Joseph J. Addante

"Joe"

Age 75, late of Romeoville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Chicago and living in the area since 1979. A proud United States Army Vietnam Veteran. Member of St. Joseph Church Lockport, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society for many years. Joe enjoyed traveling the world, was an avid Chicago White Sox fan, all-around sports fan, he found joy in being able to visit every MLB baseball stadium in the United States. Joe was a social butterfly and to him no one was ever a stranger. Member of a few local widows groups where he met many dear friends. Above all else he was a devoted family man and especially cherished spending time with his two granddaughters and two great grandchildren who were his whole world.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Caroline J. "Carrie" (Nee Majewski) Addante (2012); and his parents, John and Catherine "Kay"  (Nee Cacioppo) Addante.

Survived by his loving daughter, Carrie (Norman Jr.) Seitz of Lockport; two adored granddaughters, Stephanie (Aaron) Coldwater of Elwood, and Kathryn Addante of Lockport; great grandchildren, Caroline and TJ Coldwater of Elwood; one sister, Alice (Bruce) Busse of California; and numerous other loved family members and friends.

Prayers will be held in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00am to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Entombment following Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Orland Park.

Visitation in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
