Joseph passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at the age of 90 years old.
Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Camilla nee Guerra; his children, Joey (Sharon), Anna (John) and David (Priscilla); his grandchildren, Tristan, Holly (Michael), Trenton, Sara (Blake), Lauren and Jon-Michael.
Having many family members across the U.S., he wished to be cremated and have a memorial ceremony that will be held at a later date.
He was a proud resident of the historical town of Pullman, where he loved working in his garden and sharing his produce with neighbors.
Joseph was a dedicated Union Local #265 of painters and allied trades in Chicago. He taught his family that "if you work hard, you will succeed". He was a man who spoke his own truth, loved to joke and had a charismatic witty sarcasm that you couldn't help but love.
He spent countless hours telling stories about his childhood in Mexico and how he went on to become an American citizen in 1987, living the American dream.
We all know he has a shot of his favorite Christian Brothers Brandy in hand, Cheers!!
During Joseph's stay in Lockport, he was cared for by Lightways Hospice. His family would like to express a deep gratitude for his nurses who cared for him during these past months.
Private Cremation. Arrangements by O'Neil Funeral Home 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport. (815) 838-5010 or www.oneilfuneralhome.com
