Joylyn E. Kure
(Nee: Boldt)
Age 82, was granted her Angel wings on March 24, 2021
after a brief illness, with her daughter by her bedside.
Born on August 28, 1938 to Clarence and Eleanor Boldt, she was raised
on their Lemont, IL farm and attended Lemont High School. Joy and her
beloved husband, Raymond A. Kure, were married for 57 years and
resided in Lockport, IL, with their two children, cats, dogs and a
pet peacock. Joy was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran
Church, and a former member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
With a profound love of nature, birds, and animals, Joy's motto was
"Save a place for wildlife." A talented artist and quilter who
created beautiful doll houses, mosaics and crafts, she enjoyed
cooking, gardening and garage-saleing, repurposing items and adding
whimsy to her log home, including a rock garden featuring 100 bowling
balls. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, she enjoyed trips to Wrigley Field,
hiking, camping, and exploring National parks in western USA, casino
trips to Las Vegas, and visiting family and friends in southwest
Florida. Blessed with life-long friendships, she loved her "Club
Ladies" from Lemont High School, her wonderful caregivers from ABC
Angels, and her nurse, Bonna Baticados.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond A. "Moose" Kure; son,
