KATHLEEN M. BRUSS, 59

Kathleen passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with ALS.  She grew up in Orland Park, IL and then moved to Lockport, IL where she raised her family.

She worked at Lewis University where she also earned her master's degree. Before that she worked at Joliet Junior College and was a beautician at Total Look Hair Salon in Homer Glen. Kathleen was a member of Lockport Moose Lodge #1557, a longtime member of St. John Vianney, where she also taught Religious Ed, and she was an advocate at Casa of River Valley in Joliet.

She loved sewing, crocheting, quilting, and reading.  Most of all, she loved her family, adored her grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Ernie; loving children, Megan (Tony) Almaraz, Melissa Bruss, and Ernie (Renee) Bruss; dearest grandchildren, Evelynn, Emma, Autumn, Jackson, Maxwell, and Daniel; parents, Anthony and Margaret Jakubicek; siblings, Karen (Jeff) Wallis, Susan (Rick) Simpson, Peggy Jakubicek; and many other dear family members.
