Lawrence "Larry" Kohs

Age 65, late of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, with family by his side at the Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet. Born in Chicago, he resided in Chicago and the suburbs as well as in Missouri and South Carolina.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence, and Jean (Nee Welcome) Kohs; his sisters, Linda (Nee Kohs) Koestner, and Sharon Kohs; and one nephew, Robert (Lil' Bobby) Kalafut.

Survived by his sisters, Mary (Larry) Fletcher, and Joan (John) Palencia; brother-in-law, Rick Koestner; daughter, Sarah Donnelly; beloved uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; close friend, Donna; and numerous other cherished family members and friends also survive.

Larry lived his life the way he wanted. He was an avid fan of Chicago sports. He collected Hot Wheel cars and baseball cards. Larry's pride and joy was his Hot Wheels Blue 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme; he spent many weekends at car shows or driving around enjoying his car. Memories of Larry at the holidays include him being the only one who could rip the bread for the stuffing on Thanksgiving and his tape-job of Easter eggs that had the great nieces and nephews working hard to get the candy out of those eggs. One thing that you could always count on from Larry was a firm handshake and a joke. Larry was always there for his friends and family and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations to Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, IL in Larry's name would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 4:00pm until time of service at 6:00pm with Fr. Shaun Cieslik officiating. Following services cremation rites will be respectfully addressed.
