Luis B. Esparza

Age 95, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Yuriria, GTO, Mexico, moved to California at the age of 18, lived in Willow Springs, Lemont, and a resident of Lockport for over 35 years. Retired from General Motors in 1989 where he was a punch press operator for many dedicated years. Former member of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Joliet. Luis always looked forward to traveling to Mexico, camping with his family, and enjoyed gardening with his beloved wife, Ramona. He was a very devoted family man, and cherished spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ramona Lopez- Esparza (1996); his daughter, Sandra Lopez-Esparza; grandson, Justin Kowalski, his parents, Jesus and Socorro Esparza; one brother, and two sisters.

Survived by five devoted children, Dave Lopez, Jesus (Darla) Lopez, Elvira Zamora, Arturo (Carol) Lopez, and Tony Lopez; adored grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Lee, Cassandra, Jose Luis, Sadie, Nicole, David, and Brittaney; loved great grandchildren, Angelo, Mikey, Anthony, Melaney, Noah, Solaria, Yulena, Niko, Samuel, Saul, and Selena; two brothers, Isidero Lopez, and  Salvador Lopez; and two sisters, Teresa Gomez, and Josephina Villagomez; and numerous loved family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 10:00am. Interment following service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Justice. Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
