Marie D'Arpa

(Nee Cirrincione)

Age 88, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Chicago, lived in Palermo, Italy, and a resident of Lockport since 1978. Member St. Joseph Church, Lockport, and formerly attended Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Lockport. Marie was a kind and loving mother, guided throughout her life by a deep Catholic faith and a lifelong love of classical music. She was an avid reader and often spoke fondly of her friends. She often reminisced about her first job with the noted Chicago doctor Keeley, and her years at Argonne. She loved shopping at Marshall Field's and took joy in giving thoughtful gifts. London—and all things British—held a special charm for her. Marie cherished her brothers and sister and had a deep affection for her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her devotion to her grandchildren, for the care she gave to her flowers each summer, and, most of all, for the love she shared with her beloved husband, Toti, with whom she spent 55 wonderful years.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvatore D'Arpa (2018); her son, Joe D'Arpa (2012); her parents, Giacomo and Rosaria (Nee Portuesi) Cirrincione; and one brother, Salvatore (Francesca) Cirrincione.

Survived by her three loving children, Bijou (Alan Asper) D'Arpa, Jamie (Karen) D'Arpa and Sara D'Arpa; five cherished grandchildren, Giampaolo Asper, Noah D'Arpa, Elizabeth D'Arpa, Lauren (Zander Mrlik) Wiebe, and Ashlyn Wiebe. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of donor's choice in Marie's name would be greatly appreciated.

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Marie's life will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 500 S. Jefferson St. Lockport, Il 60441 at 11:30am. Visitation at church from 10:30am until time of Mass. Following Mass Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed.
