Marilyn J. Elison

Age 78, late of Lockport passed away peacefully at the Lightways Hospice home surrounded by her loving family. Retired from Argonne National Laboratory where she was an Administrative Assistant for many dedicated years. Member of the Lockport Moose Lodge #1557 and St. Joseph Church, Lockport. An avid seamstress who was very talented. She was a kind and loving soul and was always there for her friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby (Nee Layne) Menees; three sisters, Violet (late George) Machura, Mona (late Don) Ross, and Rosemarie (Jerry Blackteer) Bear; and her in-laws, Jim and Florence Elison.

Survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, John D. Elison; four loving children, Ann (Frank Murray) Craig, Michael (Judy) Elison, Donna (Rich) Butler, and Brad (Julie) Elison; eight adored grandchildren, Michael (Josephine) and Tony (Lexi) Craig, Josh (Mareea) and Hannah (Kyle) Elison, Teddy (Sarah) Cruitt and Monica (Brett) Scheithe, and John and Natalie (Robert) Elison; one brother, John (Georgia) Menees; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members also survive.

Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 4:00pm until time of prayer service at 6:30pm.
