Mark Allen Mounce

Age 74, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024. Born in Berwyn, raised in Oak Lawn, and a resident of Lockport for the past 37 years. Retired from the United States Post Office in 2014 after many years of dedicated service. A proud United States Vietnam Army Veteran. Mark found great joy in spending time with his family, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events, where he was always their biggest fan.

Preceded in death by his parents, Morse and Helen (Nee Wrobel) Mounce; one brother, Kenneth Mounce; and a nephew, Justin Boyd.

Survived his devoted son, Jeremy (Naomi) Mounce of Lockport; two cherished grandsons, Eric Mounce, and Dylan Mounce; his loving partner of 25 years, Kathleen Lambert; one sister, Kathi (Gene) Varenhorst; a dear niece, Tiffany (Sheldon Boquet) Gunter; his great niece, Addison Boquet; and a great nephew, Chad Gunter. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Mark's name would be greatly appreciated.

Prayers will be held in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. (159th St.) Lockport, IL 60441 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 11:00am proceeding to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Interment following Mass at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Visitation in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
