Michael J. "Mike" Gallagher, age 54, of Lockport, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Mike was born and raised in Oak Lawn; he was a resident of Lockport for over 20 years. He was a 1990 graduate of Brother Rice High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Eastern Illinois University in 1995. Mike is also a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He enjoyed the outdoors and once hiked to the summit of Mount Rainier.  Mike found his greatest joy in his family. Whether he was cheering on his boys as they competed in sports or simply being present with them, he cherished nothing more than the time spent with his four sons.

Mike's memory will be carried forward by Rebecca, his devoted wife of 14 years; his four adored sons, Liam, Rory, Deklan, and Nolan; his loving mother, Rosemary Gallagher-Phillips; and his dear siblings, Rosemarie (the late Kurt) Oswald, Carolyn Mitchell, Brian (Jill) Gallagher, and John (Michelle) Gallagher. He was a treasured uncle and friend to many. He is preceded in death by James E. Gallagher (father), Thomas Phillips (stepfather) and his brother, James.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Dennis Church 1214 S. Hamilton St. Lockport, IL 60441, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:00am.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
