Myrna Lee Czajkowski
“Cookie”
(Nee Blasing)
Born: October 23,1947
At Rest: October 3, 2026
Age 78, of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Lockport, a community where she proudly graduated from Lockport Township High School, Class of 1965, and where she built her beautiful life and raised her family. Myrna lived a life filled with love, faith, and creativity. She dedicated many years to her career as a loyal receptionist at Lemont Family Clinic and later was an executive secretary at Argonne National Laboratory. A devout woman with an immeasurable love for God. A faithful member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemont, where she served as a Ladies Aid Guild member and found deep joy in singing in the choir.
Myrna was also a talented sewer; she created many beautiful designs for her family that her husband proudly framed. She will be remembered for her impeccable sense of style and love for fashion; she was always dressed to a T and loved to look her best. Her fudge was known as the best fudge ever, and every Christmas, family and friends alike eagerly anticipated "Aunt Myrna’s fudge." Above all, she loved to have a good time with her friends and family, and she loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure. She also adored her beautiful cats, Stormy and Bella.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Robert Czajkowski; her parents, Gladys (nee Kelm) and Woodrow Blasing; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and her late fiancé, Richard Shirley.
She is survived by her four children, Gregg (Twila) Helmich, Sharon (Bill) Vercellotti, Alan Czajkowski, and Mark Czajkowski; her beloved grandchildren, Christopher (Paige) DeZutter, Dawn (Brandon) Murphy, Alyssa DeZutter fiancé, David Kives, Keely (Nick) Jessen, William Vercellotti, Makayla (John) Shaw, Hannah Helmich, Tyler Helmich, Gabrielle Czajkowski and Carson Frick; her cherished eleven great-grandchildren, Caden, Nicholas, Aiden, Letty, Gwenivere, Rachel, Maximus, Patrick, Kinslee, Penelope, and Isabella; her sister, Doralee (Thomas) Bruecks; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to NAWS in Myrna’s name would be greatly appreciated.
