Patricia A. Dalton
January 25, 1931 - September 24, 2025
After 94 years of a life well lived, Pat - often known as "Paddy
the Clown" - passed on at her Chicago Ridge home, in her
sleep. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack (John
Thomas Dalton), and her siblings Jack, Dorothy, and Joe. Pat
lived most of her life in the Chicago area, the exception being
an 11 year adventure in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.
Her family and faith were the centers of her life. She and
Jack had 3 daughters including Janet Corriveau (Bill), Susie
Lebensorger (Charlie), and Mary Carol Burke (Joe). To her
great delight she was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Charlie,
Curtis, Patrick, and Maggie. Attending Sunday Mass and
contributing to the growth of her church were staples in her
life. She spent significant time at Holy Redeemer in Evergreen
Park, IL; Saint Dorothy's in Drexel Hill, PA; Saint John of the
Cross in Western Springs, IL; and Our Lady of the Ridge, in
Chicago Ridge, IL. She occasionally attended mass with her
daughter at Saint Joseph's in Lockport, which she came to
consider her "home" parish.
Early in her fifth decade, Pat pursued a life-long passion
which brought her great joy and fulfillment. She became
"Paddy the Clown", and her life was never the same. She loved
to bring joy to others (especially children) through ballooning,
face-painting, singing songs, and showing off her clown magic.
She performed at children's birthday parties and marched in
many community parades. Pat made life-long great friends by
participating in several local clown clubs. Her phone contacts
included such names as "Clackers", "Paddy Puddles", and "Belly
Button". These friends brought her great joy and love all the
way to the end of her days here on earth.
When Pat was no longer able to care for herself, Vera came to
the rescue. This selfless woman tirelessly cared for her with
great compassion and a good chunk of humor. Pat's family will
forever be grateful for Vera. She kept mom safe, clean, very
happy, and made it possible for Pat to end her days in her own
home. God bless Vera.
Pat's life will be celebrated with a Catholic Memorial Mass at
Saint Joseph's Church in Lockport on Saturday, October 11 at
10:00 am. Following her mass, there will be a luncheon for all
at Cog Hill Golf Course in Lemont from 11:30 until 2:00.
She always loved a good party—especially if clowns were involved!
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Protez Foundation (prostethetics for Ukraine) (DONATE)
