Penny L. Jay

(Nee Olszewski)

Age 64, of Midway, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Joliet, raised in Lemont, lived in Lockport for 43 years, and was a resident of Midway, Arkansas since 2020. Member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Lemont. Penny loved to clean and was very meticulous. She was always there for her husband and son through thick and thin. She enjoyed being at home, but above all else cherished every moment spent with family. She was a kind and loving soul and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Sr., and Nancy (Nee Olinger) Olszewski; one brother, Kenneth Olszewski Jr.; and one sister, Peggy Roth.

Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Jerry Jay Sr.; her adored son, Jerry Jay Jr. (Marty McCafferty); a sister, Patty (Kevin) Philips; her godchild, Samantha (Joe) Kestler; a sister-in-law, Pam Olszewski; and brother-in-law, Patrick Roth. Numerous nephews, nieces, other cherished family members and friends also survive.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St., Lockport, IL 60441 at 11:30am with Pastor Elaina Salmon of Bethany Lutheran Church, Lemont officiating.  Interment immediately following service at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Lemont, IL. Visitation Friday, September 30, 2022, in the funeral home chapel from 3:00pm until 8:00pm.
