Raymond M.
Seago
Sep 22, 1929 — Feb 20, 2021
Lockport
Raymond M. Seago
Age 91, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Lockport, IL. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Ray was a true man of faith. He loved the Lord deeply. He was a master craftsman and mechanic. He retired after 27 years as maintenance mechanic from Argonne National Laboratory. There was nothing he could not fix. He was a master gardener who tended to all his gardens with care. Family and friends reaped his harvest. He had a passion for weather and rivaled the best meteorologist. He never passed a thermometer without checking the temperature. Thanks to his family, he was a world traveler visiting many places around the globe, but his favorite destination was Hawaii. In the spirit of Aloha, every year without fail, he blew the conch shell to signal the start of Christmas. He was a native of Iuka, MS and never lost his accent or his Southern charm. He was always a country boy at heart as well as a true gentleman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters and daughter Patricia (Dale) Flood.
Beloved Husband of Carlene, Cherished Father of Suzette Horyza, Judy Techman, Cynthia (Clifford) Rogers, Karen Seago and Sheila (Gregory) Stowers, Traveling Buddy Father-in-Law to Dan Techman, Wise and Loving Grandfather of Raychel Techman, Zachary Techman, Christina (Brandon) Latham, Cheri (Scott) Taylor, Cheyna Rogers, Darby Stowers, and Great grandchild Piper Latham, and Caring Brother of Fletcher Seago.
Ray will be profoundly missed by his family and friends who deeply loved him.
In lieu of flowers Memorial to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
