Richard F. Goltermann

"Dick"

Age 81, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Born in Aurora, IL, raised in Lombard, and a resident of Lockport for over 50 years. A proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Dick was a very kind-hearted, generous, emotionally and physically strong Christian man. He was extremely dedicated, especially to his family. Employed by Molex for 40 years. He regularly bowled on a league with coworkers for many years. Dick was a man that loved dogs, fast cars, Elvis Presley and Westerns.  He enjoyed football, specifically the 1985 Chicago Bears. He could often be seen with a Dunkin coffee in hand. He could never eat enough steak or his daughter's chocolate chip cookies. Of all the things he treasured, his family was his most cherished. He would do anything to protect those he loved. He was an amazing father and grandfather; the type of man you look up to. Revered by his family, he was a fighter till the end. Conversation and social interaction fueled his happiness, and thus, he will be deeply missed by many wonderful friends and family.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen (Nee Peterson) Goltermann; one sister in infancy, Ann Louise; and one brother, Ronald Goltermann.

Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rebecca (Nee Gouldin) Goltermann; his two devoted children, Annette (Jeremy) Hoffman, and Alan Goltermann; three adored grandchildren, Joseph, Jayden, and Allison Hoffman.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00am in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441. Interment following service at Elm Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elmhurst. Visitation Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the funeral home chapel from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
