Russell D."Russ" Carpenter

Age 69, of Lockport passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 14, 2022. Born in Webster, South Dakota, and a lifelong resident of Lockport. A proud United States Vietnam Airforce Veteran. Member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, Lockport and Lockport Golf Club. Retired from Caterpillar in 2015 after many years of dedicated service. An avid golfer, Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed music, and puzzles. Above all else he cherished spending time with his family the most.

Preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kendra J. Carpenter (2016); parents, Gerald and Ferne (Nee: Johnson) Carpenter; two brothers, Dennis Carpenter and Dale Carpenter; and two sisters, Cynde Vance and Kristi Carpenter.

Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joellyn (Nee Badger) Carpenter; two devoted children, Danielle Carpenter and Jacob Carpenter; one adored granddaughter, Shelby Carpenter; a sister, Gloria Ready; one brother, Geary (Kelly) Carpenter; sisters-in-law, Jillann (late Donald) McGregor and Jerrilynn Cheek. Numerous other cherished family members and dear friends also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of donor's choice in Russ's name would be greatly appreciated.

Cremation rites have been respectfully addressed.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9 ^th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 1:00pm until of Service at 3:00pm.
