Ruth Ann Bukalski

(Nee Carlson)

Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022, surrounded by her daughters at home in Lockport, Illinois. Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and Blackhawks fan. A bright light to all she met, Ruth was a friend to many, including Bill W. since 1978. When she was not caring for patients during her 27-year career at Holy Cross Hospital, Ruth spent her time crossing items off her always-expanding bucket list, making new friends along the way. Ruth was also a doting "grand-pawrent" to Bruno, who has been awaiting their final car ride over the rainbow bridge.

Ruth joins her husband, Walter Bukalski; her parents, Walter and Marie Carlson; her sister, Peggy (Robert) Kalchbrenner; her brother, Robert Carlson; and her son-in-law, John Wilkins.

Ruth is survived by her children, Linda Buikema-Wilkins, Robin (Dan) Burek, Tracy (Mesine "Max") Bukalski, and Walter (Hazel) Bukalski; one brother, Bill (Victoria) Carlson; her grandchildren, Nate Buikema (Katy Broom), Alexandria Burek, and Taylor Burek, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at O'Neil Funeral Home, 1105 E. 9 ^th Street, Lockport, IL 60441. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, 401 E. 5 ^th Street, Lockport, IL 60441. Following all services Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed.

Because Ruth was such an avid Chicago Blackhawks Fan, the family requests that Hawks apparel be worn to the visitation by those who are able.
