Sam J. Tyler

Age 86, late of Lockport passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Born and raised in Eldorado, IL, lived in New Lenox, and a resident of Lockport since 1970. Retired from Motorola after many years of dedicated service. He loved taking long walks, working in the yard, visiting the Donut Shop in Lockport, enjoyed old western movies, John Wayne, but above all else he cherished spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vicky Tyler (2006); and his parents, John and Emma (Nee Tomes) Tyler.

Survived by his devoted children, JoAnn Dixon, John (Norine) Tyler, Bill (Lupe) Tyler, and Mike Tyler; 11 cherished grandchildren, Adam (Alyssa)  Anderson, Beth Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Pamela (Rick) Mical , John (fiancé Ashley) Tyler, Jeffrey (Madi) Tyler, Jeremy Tyler, James Carpenter, Erika (Steve) Gioiosa, Niko (Nicole) Carpenter, and Chance Tyler; 23 adored great grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Marie Leithliter, and Dolores Collins, and numerous cherished family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 10:00am. Interment following service at Lockport City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
