Age 80, late of Joliet passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Chicago, lived in Lyons for 29 years, and a resident of Joliet for the past 23 years. She loved to sew, enjoyed beading, and was an exceptional cook. She was a loving nanny for many years for countless children whom she loved dearly. Above all else she was a devoted Nana.

Preceded in death by her mother, Agatha W. (Nee: Dorociak) (stepfather, Solomon Albert); and her father, Thomas Manifold.

Survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard G. Smith; six children, Linda (Joseph) Barnes, Steven Smith, Kevin (Christina) Smith, Susan Kerr – Smith, Sandra (Kenneth Jr.) Norkus ,and Keith Smith; eight adored grandchildren, Christopher (Rebecca) Svehla, Ryan Smith, Stephanie Smith, Jaxon Smith, Kyle Smith, Megan Smith, Taylor Norkus, and Tyler Norkus; her half-brother, William "Billy" Albert; and her faithful companion her dog, Wedge. Numerous other cherished family members and friends also survive. Memorial donations in Sharon's name can be made to The ALS Foundation , or The Les Turner ALS Foundation .

Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.
