Shirley E. Southwick

Age 100, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Born and raised in Chicago before moving to Lockport where she lived most of her life. Shirley was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who cherished time spent with her family.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arlo E. Southwick (2008); grandson, Aaron Southwick; her parents, Fred and Ella; and one brother, Fred.

Survived by four children, Sharon (late Sonny) Manuel, Bradley (Linda) Southwick, Susan Ketelaar, and Brian Southwick; grandchildren, Shane, Joseph, Benjamin, and Mary Southwick, Cheryl, Geno, and Rebecca Ketelaar, and Derek Southwick; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jessica Oakley, and Morgan and Madison Ketelaar; and a great-great grandson, Kaden Byrne. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Shirley's name would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th S. Lockport, IL 60441 from 9:00am until time of Service at 10:00am. Following service everyone will meet at Cedar Park Cemetery, 12540 S. Halsted St. Calumet Park, IL 60827 for a chapel service at the cemetery.
