Stephen "Steve" McIntire

Age 72, late of Joliet passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Born and raised in Chicago, lived in Burbank, Oak Lawn, Plainfield, Lockport, and a resident of Joliet for the past 10 years. Retired from Amtrak Railroad after many years of dedicated service. Stephen loved trains, Coke collectables, puzzles, and was an avid collector which brought him so much joy. Above all else he cherished spending time with his family and being grandpa.

Preceded death by his beloved wife, Janice (Nee Kruzel) McIntire (2005); one son, Scott McIntire (1979); his parents, Ama and Helen (Nee Szarek) McIntire; one brother, William McIntire; and a sister, Vivian McIntire.

Survived by three devoted children, Mike (Dyan) McIntire of Lockport, Deana McIntire of Oak Lawn, and Briana Bergner of Plano; five adored grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Van Sickle, and Judy McIntire; and two faithful companions his dogs, Charlie and Lizze. Cremation Rites were respectfully addressed, and a Celebration of Stephan's life will be held at a later date.
