Walter F. Pote Jr.

Age 77, late of Homer Glen passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 30, 2024. Born in Chicago, raised in Worth, and a resident of Homer Glen since 1976. He was a talented photoengraver for many dedicated years retiring in 2006. A proud member of the PPPWU (formerly GCIU) Local #458. An avid scrapper, he enjoyed working on cars, lawnmowers, washer and dryers. A fan of NHRA and NASCAR. Above all else he cherished spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was a jack of all trades and local handyman. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Mildred (Nee Shields) Pote; in-laws, John and Jeanne Heelan; two brothers, John (late Sharon) and William (Stephanie) Pote; and a sister, Dianne (Patrick) Lavin.

Survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Linda (Nee Heelan) Pote; three cherished children, Wally III (fiancé Lisa) Pote, Andrea (Jay Rodak) Yedinak, and Shari (Troy) Buis; adored grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jordan) Smith, Jenna ( fiancé Adam) Smith, Ryan (fiancé Kelsey) Yedinak, Tiffany Buis, Shawn (Danielle) Wolf, Alyssa Jones, Edward (Jessica) Jones, Lydia (Lewis) Jones; loving great grandchildren, Anastasia, Lily, Tessa, Harper, Colton, Adalynn, Alayah, Edward, Elliot, Emery; his siblings, James Pote, Daniel ( fiancé Kim) Pote, Marjorie (Dan) Costa, and Michael (Sharon) Pote; brother-in-law, John (Peggy) Heelan;  sisters-in-law, Joan (Andrew) Koning, and Kathy Lukosius; his dear godchildren, Ann Marie Furr, Rebecca Mason, Dan Livesey and Brett Pote; and numerous nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

Prayers will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 9:15am proceeding to St. Dennis Catholic Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed following Mass. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, in the Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
