With heavy hearts we announce the death of Wayne R. Waddell of Lockport Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022. He was cherished by his family and Many Dear Friends.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Judith of 57 years; his son, Jeffrey W. Waddell and daughter-in-law, Sarah (North) Waddell; two grandsons, Ryan J. Waddell, and Justin W. Waddell; sister-in-law, Patricia Smedley; brother in-law, John Narducci; numerous nephews, a niece and two loving cats, Sasha and Lucky.

Preceded in death are his parents, James and Elsie (Rogers) Waddell of Joliet; a brother, Lawrence Waddell of Orange California; and a sister, Cynthia Narducci (Waddell) of LasCruses New Mexico.

Wayne received his College Education at Illinois State University, Normal, IL. He was a Fraternity member of Beta Omega Alpha and received a Master's Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. He taught 7th and 8th grade at Lemont Public Grade school for many dedicated years. He then taught U.S. History and Social Studies at Joliet Township High School for 28 years and was the Athletic Business Manager for all sports, boys' baseball coach, girls' softball coach, and girls' basketball coach. Retiring in 1995. He had his own Travel Agency Sunrise Travel which he loved helping people with trips. He loved playing Golf with all of his friends and Euchre with his teacher friend for over 50 years.

Cremation rights were accorded per Wayne's wishes.

Donations to St. Joseph's church 410 S. Jefferson St. Lockport Illinois, 60441 or Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois, 60431 would be appreciated.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31,2022, in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 1,2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 S. Jefferson St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 10:30am.
