William A. Albrecht

Age 88, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Born in Chicago, raised in Lemont, lived in Pennsylvania, Chicago, IL, Nebraska, Texas, and a resident of the Lago Vista Community in Lockport since 2007. A proud United States Army Veteran. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed playing pinochle, was very active with the Lago Vista Veteran's Club, and Past Board Member of the Lago Vista Association. Above all else he loved his dog, Champ, and his family unconditionally. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise (Nee Klein) Albrecht.

Survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Carol (Nee Vander Woude) Albrecht; two loving children, Muriel (Rob) Cunningham of Lockport, and William (Tara) Albrecht of Rio Rancho, NM; six cherished grandchildren, Jack, Elle, and Ryan (Lauren) Cunningham; and William Remington, Robert Gage, and Andrew Zane Albrecht; two great grandchildren, Maisie, and Rory Cunningham; and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Miracles In Progress in William's name would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 10:00am. Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Interment Private.
