William J. "Bill" Doyle

Age 75, late of Lockport passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 24, 2022. Born in Joliet and lifelong resident of Lockport. Lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Lockport. Bill was very active with the Lockport Lions Club, Kelvin Grove School Board, and The Democratic Party in Lockport. Member the Lockport Moose Lodge# 1557. A 1966 Graduate of Lockport Township High School, received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Southern Illinois University 1970, and a Master's Degree in Corrections from Chicago State University. Retired from the Illinois State Department of Corrections, Joliet in 2001 after 32 years of dedicated service. Bill was the youngest man to be appointed to the Parole Board State of Illinois in his early twenties. He was a Lockport Township Trustee, and Township Collector. An avid golfer, and car enthusiast. Above all else he was a very devoted family man and will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel Doyle (2000); and his parents, Lester and Mary (Nee Patrick) Doyle.

Survived by the true love of his life, Lynn (Nee Likes) Doyle; cherished son, Billy Doyle; one brother, Lester (Monique) Doyle; and his faithful companion his dog, Eve. Numerous nieces, nephews, many dear friends, and other cherished family members also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Church, Lockport or Food for the Poor in Bill's name would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Church 500 S. Jefferson St., Lockport, IL 60441 from 9:00am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Following Mass Interment at Lockport City Cemetery.
