William "Bill"
L. Brill
Sep 22, 1947 — Apr 26, 2022
William "Sweet Bill" Brill was born in Evergreen Park, IL on September 22, 1947 to William and Mildred (Ahlgrain) Brill. He was the oldest of four brothers, Dave, Brad, and Dale. Bill was a proud Illinois State University alum, received a Masters in Education from Governors State University and spent the majority of his teaching career at Summit Hill Junior High in Frankfort, IL. It would be remiss to not mention his time in the National Guard that gave him his "veteran" status. When not teaching, you could find Bill working in any number of carpentry jobs, with his chef d'oeuvre being a basement bar for his son-in-law.
He was known as the "old guy who shot with one arm" at the shooting range, one of the two places you would be likely to find Bill. The other place would be at the bar with a martini in his hand. If you sat down next to him, be prepared to make a new buddy or perhaps learn about another passion, cars (particularly Corvettes). He was generous to a fault and loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his granddaughters and grand-pets. He enjoyed life to the fullest and never hesitated to tell you what he was thinking. Although such a short summary of this man will never do him justice, he will be missed by many. Cheers to a wonderful life, Bill - we'll "see you in a minute."
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brother Dave. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (née Solley), daughters Katherine (Steve) Schuetz and Anne (Neil) Bossard, brothers Brad (Peg) and Dale (Stephanie), and granddaughters, Alice and Nora Bossard, and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bill's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Salvation Army, and if you're feeling particularly lucky, place a $2 bet on DraftKings.
