William R. Piper Sr., Age 70, currently of Fort Myers, Florida and was a long-time resident of Lockport, Illinois, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Born December 22, 1952, at Great Lakes Naval Base in Waukegan, Illinois. Bill was a graduate of Lockport Township High School Class of 1971. He was an avid sports fan who loved Notre Dame football and the Chicago White Sox. His affinity for sports lead him to be a member of many area competitive softball teams throughout the years. Bill was also a longtime official of basketball and softball, where in 2014, he was proudly inducted into the Joliet Basketball Officials Organization (JBO) Hall of Fame. Bill worked for Citgo (formerly Uno-Ven) refinery for 40 years, retiring in 2011. Bill also loved to fish, golf and listen to his favorite band, the Rolling Stones, but his greatest joy of all was spending time with his family, friends and his beloved canine companion of 17 years Zoe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles William "Chuckles" and Mary Virginia "Ginna" Piper; one brother Donnie Piper and an infant brother, John Richard Piper; paternal grandparents, Perry and Bonnie Piper; maternal grandparents, Charles F. and Margaret Lennon.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of over 51 years, Jeannie (Nee: Carroll) Piper; his two children, William "Bill Jr." (Anna) and Brandee (Michael) Pavlovich; proudest grandpa of his four grandchildren, Kierstyn, Keely, Justin and Sarah; his dear brothers and sisters, Robert (Jeanette) Piper, Michael (Mary) Piper, Patricia (William) Valentino, Mimi (Steve) Kambic and Joe (Stephanie) Piper.

Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Several cousins and dear friends also survive.
