Our Family
O'Neil Funeral Home is a 4th-generation family-owned funeral home. Jeremiah O'Neil began the funeral business in Chatsworth, IL, as a funeral director/furniture maker and Postmaster General. His son Joseph T. moved the business to Joliet and opened the 1st funeral home in Will County, named Joliet's First Home for Funerals, later known as O'Neil Funeral Home. JT's youngest son, Patrick J. O'Neil, entered the funeral business after serving a tour in Korea. Pat and his wife Joyce moved the business in 1973 to its present location in Lockport. Pat's two children, Kim A. O'Neil Golob and Patrick K. O'Neil, are licensed funeral professionals. In July of 2009, our sprawling 10,000 square foot facility was completely remodeled. In October of 2010, the building was completed and is a beautiful asset for the City of Lockport and the families we serve. In October of 2010, the City of Lockport honored our facility and family with the 1st ADELMANN IMPROVEMENT AWARD....an honor that will last a lifetime.
Patrick K. O'Neil recently retired after serving seven terms (28 years) as the Will County Coroner; he is currently the President of O'Neil Funeral Home.
Kimberly A. O'Neil Golob is currently the Vice President of O'Neil Funeral Home.
